TANGERANG — The Government of Tangerang City, through its Manpower Office (Disnaker), organized a large-scale job fair called Gebyar Rekrutmen 2025 on 28–29 October 2025 at the Tangerang Convention Center (TCC). The event offered more than 1,000 job openings from 10 national companies to job seekers from Tangerang and surrounding areas.

The Gebyar Rekrutmen job fair aimed to create opportunities for both local residents and job applicants from outside the city by bringing together employers and prospective workers in one venue. A total of 10 prominent national companies participated, providing access to a wide range of positions across various sectors, including retail, services, food production, and manufacturing.

According to the official announcement by Tangerang City Government, the recruitment event provided 1,020 job vacancies open for applicants, with positions ranging from entry-level roles to mid-level professional placements. Employers involved included companies such as PT Indomarco Prismatama, PT Bangunan Rancangan Indonesia Kita, PT Sentral Layanan Prima, Primafood International, and PT Kawan Lama Group, among others.

The job fair began each day at 08.00 WIB and was open to the public, with no entrance fee required. However, participants were encouraged to register online prior to the event to select vacancies that matched their skills and interests. Registered candidates then received invitations and were eligible to go through company-specific selection processes at their respective booths.

Officials noted that the transparent and integrated recruitment system was designed to help shorten the hiring process and improve the match between job seekers and employers. Disnaker officials also emphasized that the event was part of Tangerang City’s broader efforts to support employment and reduce open unemployment by giving direct access to recruiters and job opportunities.

The Gebyar Rekrutmen 2025 is one of several job market initiatives in Tangerang throughout the year, providing thousands of opportunities for the local workforce. By hosting this event, Tangerang City continues to strengthen the connection between employers and job seekers while addressing workforce needs in a dynamic economic environment.

Orionid Meteor Shower Set to Light Up Sky on 21–22 October 2025

JAKARTAThe annual celestial event known as the Orionid meteor shower is expected to peak in the night sky over Indonesia on 21–22 October 2025, offering skywatchers an opportunity to witness streaks of light as meteors enter the Earth’s atmosphere. The phenomenon will be visible without special equipment, though timing and sky conditions will be key to observational success.

The Orionid meteor shower occurs annually when the Earth passes through debris left behind by Halley’s Comet. As these tiny particles enter the Earth’s atmosphere at high speed, they burn up and produce visible meteors — popularly known as “shooting stars” — streaking across the night sky.

According to skywatching guides and astronomical forecasts, the phenomenon can be observed from 21 October and into the early hours of 22 October 2025, with optimal viewing after midnight and before dawn when the radiant point near the Orion constellation is highest. Observers may see meteors without telescopes or binoculars, provided they find a location free of light pollution.

The puncak (peak) of the Orionid meteor shower, when the greatest number of meteors is expected, falls within this night period, although activity extends for several nights before and after these dates. According to enthusiasts and astronomy experts, the best viewing conditions occur when the moonlight is minimal, as this year’s timing coincides with darker skies, enhancing visibility of faint meteors.

For Indonesian viewers, the local peak may be observed starting around the evening of 21 October 2025, with continued visibility into the early morning of 22 October, depending on weather conditions and clarity of the night sky. Experts recommend allowing eyes to adjust to darkness for better meteor detection and choosing a wide horizon view to maximize the number of visible streaks.

The Orionid meteor shower is considered one of the year’s most striking natural sky events, drawing both amateur and experienced observers worldwide. With the potential to see meteors without specialized equipment, the upcoming peak in late October presents a rare chance for many Indonesians to witness this cosmic spectacle — provided clear skies and minimal light interference. Planning ahead by choosing a dark observation site and preparing for late-night viewing can enhance the experience of this celestial show.

One Goal, One Nightmare: Iraq Ends Indonesia’s World Cup Ambition

Jeddah, October 12, 2025 — The Indonesian national football team was officially eliminated from the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after losing 0–1 to Iraq at King Abdullah Sports City on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 02:30 a.m. The defeat happened because Zidane Iqbal’s goal in the second half sealed Indonesia’s fate, ending their hopes of advancing to the next round.

According to CNBC Indonesia and Tirto.id, Iraq dominated most of the game, while Indonesia struggled to make use of several scoring chances. The only goal came in the 75th minute when Zidane Iqbal broke through the defense and scored with a precise strike.

As Tempo.co reported, this result means Indonesia can no longer reach the required points to move to the next stage of the Asian qualifiers. It was also Indonesia’s second consecutive loss after being defeated by Saudi Arabia last week.

As reported by Detik.com, many analysts highlighted that Indonesia’s attacking line lacked sharpness, and several defensive mistakes gave Iraq crucial opportunities.

Although this defeat ends Indonesia’s journey to the 2026 World Cup, coaches and fans believe it should serve as a valuable lesson for the future. “It’s a painful result, but the players gave their all,” said coach Patrick Kluivert, as quoted by local media.

Differences in South Korean and North Korean Accents in "Crash Landing on You"

Crash Landing on You is a popular K-drama that not only tells a heartwarming love story but also highlights the cultural and linguistic differences between South Korea and North Korea. One of the key aspects of this drama is the contrast in accents between the two regions, which helps portray the characters' different backgrounds.

In the drama, characters from South Korea, like Se-ri (played by Son Ye-jin), speak with a fast, casual, and modern accent typical of Seoul. The language is often relaxed, and common phrases like "Oppa" (for older men) and "Unni" (for older women) are frequently used, reflecting the cultural norms of South Korea.

The South Korean accent is clear and quick, mirroring the fast-paced lifestyle of the country, especially in urban settings.

In contrast, characters from North Korea, such as Ri Jeong-hyeok (played by Hyun Bin), speak with a more formal and reserved accent. This reflects North Korea’s more rigid and respectful culture. For example, words like “Ne” (yes) sound heavier and more formal than the lighter "Eung" used in South Korea.

The North Korean accent is slower and more respectful, which shows the contrast in the social and political systems between the two countries.

A memorable moment in Crash Landing on You is when Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok first meet. Se-ri speaks quickly with her Seoul accent, which Jeong-hyeok struggles to understand. In contrast, Se-ri finds Jeong-hyeok’s formal speech difficult to follow. This highlights the cultural and linguistic gap between them.

For those learning Korean, Crash Landing on You offers a great opportunity to hear both South Korean and North Korean accents. Watching the drama can help learners understand how language varies in different parts of Korea, making it easier to pick up on nuances in pronunciation and word choice.

The accent differences between South Korea and North Korea in Crash Landing on You not only add depth to the drama but also offer a valuable lesson in understanding the cultural and linguistic diversity of Korea. It’s a fun and educational way for language learners to improve their skills and better appreciate the language.
