Tangerang – As part of their commitment to community service, students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT) have initiated afternoon learning sessions at their KKN post in Kelurahan Kenanga, Cipondoh District. This program is designed to support local children in completing their school assignments while fostering a fun and educational environment.

Held regularly from Monday to Friday in the afternoons, children from the surrounding neighborhood come to the post bringing their homework. The UMT students assist them not only in solving the problems but also in helping them understand the lessons more clearly. Beyond academic support, the sessions include engaging activities such as coloring, educational games, and informal lessons in English and Mathematics.

“Children usually come after school or in the late afternoon. We help them with their homework and explain the material. Sometimes we play games, do coloring activities, or use fun methods to make learning more enjoyable,” said one of the KKN participants.

This initiative has been warmly welcomed by both the children and their parents. Many expressed appreciation for the free guidance, which helps reinforce what the children learn in school. The close and friendly interaction between the students and the children has created a relaxed yet productive learning atmosphere.

The afternoon learning program has become one of the meaningful contributions of UMT students during their KKN, aiming to nurture children’s interest in learning and encourage them to stay motivated both at school and at home.
