We had a chance to chat with Muklis, one of the baristas at Nika Corner, who’s been working there for the past six months. Usually, the café has a chill and laid-back vibe—perfect for solo visitors or families looking for healthy bites and great coffee. But things changed during the event.
“The number of visitors went up by four times, easily,” Muklis said with a smile. “It was nonstop from morning until night.”
Nika Corner is known for its healthy, varied menu—from smoothies and salads to heavier meals and specialty coffee. It opens at 8 AM on weekdays and starts even earlier at 7 AM on weekends—just in time to welcome the early risers and event-goers.
As soon as they found out about the upcoming championship, the team at Nika Corner got right to work. They prepared extra ingredients, stocked up on 200ml bottled drinks, and streamlined service to handle the anticipated crowd.
“The biggest challenge was speed. Orders had to be ready fast but still taste good. Thankfully, our team handled it well.”
Interestingly, many event visitors didn’t just grab drinks. They stayed for light meals or even heavier ones, turning Nika Corner into more than just a refreshment stop—it became a fueling station for athletes and supporters alike.
When asked about his hopes for the future, Muklis shared, “I really hope there are more events like this. It brings good energy, and it helps us reach more people.”
Events like the 3rd Nika Kalila Masters Swimming Championship show that local businesses and community events can go hand-in-hand. For Nika Corner, this wasn’t just a busy weekend—it was a moment to shine.
So next time you're in Bintaro, stop by Nika Corner. You might just catch a great coffee—and a front-row seat to the next big thing.
